GameChanger is the official team management app used by TBSA for all baseball and softball teams. It's free to download and keeps everyone informed about game times, field locations, lineup changes, and team messages — all in one place.

Getting Started

Download the App & Create Your Account

Download GameChanger Team Manager from the App Store or Google Play — it's free.

  1. Open the app and tap Sign Up.
  2. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign in with Google or Apple.
  3. Verify your email — check your inbox for a confirmation link.
⚠️ Critical: You must use the exact same email address you used when registering as a coach through TBSA's website. This is how GameChanger connects you to your team. Using a different email means your team will not appear automatically.

Find Your Team in the App

You do not need to create a team manually. Once you are registered as a coach through TBSA's system, your team will be set up by league admins and linked to your account.

  1. After logging in, check your main home screen — your team should appear there automatically once admins have set it up.
  2. If your team does not appear, tap the + (plus) icon in the top right corner of the home screen.
  3. Select "Import from Sports Connect".
  4. Your TBSA team should now appear — tap it to import it into GameChanger.
Tip: If your team still doesn't appear after importing, double-check that you're logged in with the exact email address used during TBSA coach registration.

Your Roster — What You Need to Know

Players who have registered through TBSA's website will automatically port over into your GameChanger roster once admins add them to your team. You do not need to add players manually.

⚠️ Do NOT manually add players in GameChanger. You can, but be aware: the only official registered roster is maintained through TBSA's registration system. Any player who has not properly registered through the TBSA website may not be allowed to play when the regular season begins.

As the head coach, it is your responsibility to ensure every player on your team is registered through the proper TBSA channels. If you have returning players from a previous season, please communicate to their parents that they must re-register on the TBSA website — a player being in GameChanger does not mean they are officially registered.

If you need to verify your official roster, contact your TBSA league representative — they can provide the official list of registered players for your team.

Assistant Coaches & Staff — Registration Matters

Assistant coaches and team staff who have registered through TBSA as volunteers will be added to your team by league admins and will appear in your GameChanger app automatically.

⚠️ Do NOT manually add assistant coaches in GameChanger. All coaching staff and volunteers must register through the TBSA website. Manual additions in GameChanger do not constitute official registration — only coaches properly registered as TBSA volunteers are cleared to be on the field.

If an assistant coach is registered but hasn't shown up in your app yet, ask them to follow Steps 1–2 of this guide using the exact email they used to register with TBSA.

Managing the Schedule

Add Games to the Schedule

  1. Tap Schedule → the + icon → Add Game.
  2. Enter the opponent, date, start time, and whether it's Home or Away.
  3. Add the full field address so parents can tap for directions. For home games: 2801 SE 25th Street, Topeka, KS.
  4. Add any pre-game notes (e.g., "Arrive 30 minutes early for warmup") and tap Save.
Tip: Always use a full street address — parents can tap it to open Google Maps or Apple Maps directly from the app.

Add Practices & Other Events

  1. Tap Schedule → + → Add Event.
  2. Choose the event type: Practice, Team Meeting, Tournament, etc.
  3. Fill in the date, time, location, and any instructions.
  4. For recurring practices, tap Repeat to set up a weekly or custom recurrence.

Edit or Cancel an Event

  1. Tap the event in the Schedule tab.
  2. Tap the pencil/edit icon → make your changes → tap Save. Parents are notified automatically.
  3. To cancel: open the event → tap Cancel Event → add a reason (e.g., "Field closed — rain").
Tip: Always add a cancellation reason — parents especially appreciate timely weather-related updates.
Communication

Send a Team Message or Announcement

  1. Tap the Messages icon (speech bubble) at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select your team's channel.
  3. Type your message and tap Send. All parents and players receive a push notification.
All messages are visible to the entire team. For private conversations, use individual direct messages.
Tip: Use messages for game-day reminders, field updates, uniform requirements, and tournament details.

Check Player Availability

Parents can RSVP their child's availability directly in the app — here's how to view it.

  1. Open any event from the Schedule tab.
  2. Scroll to the Availability section — you'll see who is Available ✅, Unavailable ❌, or No Response.
  3. Use this to plan your lineup and batting order ahead of time.
Tip: Encourage parents to RSVP at least 48 hours before game time so you can plan accordingly.

Parent's Guide to GameChanger

Follow your child's TBSA team, view the schedule, get notified of changes, and let the coach know when your player can make it.

Getting Set Up

Download the App & Sign Up

▾

There are two GameChanger apps — make sure you get the right one:

  • GameChanger Team Manager — for following your child's team, viewing schedules, messaging, and RSVPs. This is the one you need.
  • GameChanger Score Keeping — only needed if you plan to score games live.
  1. Search "GameChanger Team Manager" in the App Store or Google Play and install it.
  2. Open the app and tap Sign Up.
  3. Enter your email and create a password, or sign in with Google or Apple.
  4. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
⚠️ Critical: You must use the exact same email address you used when registering your child through TBSA's website. This is how GameChanger links you to your child's team. Using a different email means the team will not appear in your app.

You do not need a join code or invitation link. As long as your child is registered through TBSA's website and has been added to a team by league admins, the team will connect to your account automatically.

  1. After logging in, check your main home screen — your child's team should appear there automatically.
  2. If the team does not appear, tap the + (plus) icon in the top right corner of the home screen.
  3. Select "Import from Sports Connect".
  4. Your child's TBSA team should appear — tap it to bring it into GameChanger.
Tip: If your child's team still doesn't appear, verify that you're logged into GameChanger with the exact email you used to register on the TBSA website.
If you have children on multiple TBSA teams (e.g., one in baseball and one in softball), both teams can be imported and followed from the same account.
Viewing the Schedule

View Games, Practices & Events

  1. Tap Schedule at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Scroll through upcoming events — each shows date, time, location, and home vs. away status.
  3. Tap any event for full details including the field address and coach notes.
Tip: Tap the field address inside any event to open Apple Maps or Google Maps with turn-by-turn directions to Dornwood Park or any away field.

Sync the Team Schedule to Your Phone's Calendar

  1. Open your team in the app and tap Schedule.
  2. Tap the calendar icon or three-dot menu → Subscribe to Calendar.
  3. Confirm — games and practices will appear in your phone's calendar app and update automatically when your coach makes changes.
This is a live feed. If your coach reschedules or cancels a game, your calendar updates automatically — no manual changes needed.
Communication & Availability

RSVP Your Child's Availability

▾

Letting your coach know if your child can attend helps them plan the lineup. Please RSVP at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible.

  1. Open the event from the Schedule tab.
  2. Scroll to the Availability section.
  3. Tap Available ✅ or Unavailable ❌ next to your child's name.
  4. You can add an optional note (e.g., "Running 10 minutes late").
Tip: You'll get a reminder notification before each event — tap it to quickly update availability without opening the full app.

Read Team Messages & Announcements

  1. Tap the Messages icon (speech bubble) at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Open your team's channel to read the latest messages from your coach.
  3. You'll receive a push notification whenever a new message is posted.
Messages in the team channel are visible to all parents and coaches. Please be respectful and mindful of your posts.

Turn On Push Notifications

In the GameChanger app:

  1. Tap your profile icon → Settings → Notifications.
  2. Enable: New Messages, Schedule Changes, Game Reminders, and Cancellations.

If notifications still aren't coming through:

  1. Go to your phone's Settings app → find GameChanger → tap Notifications → make sure they're turned On.
Tip: Blocked system-level notifications are the most common reason parents miss schedule updates.

Watch Live Scores & Stats

  1. Open the app during a game and tap the Schedule tab.
  2. Tap on the current game — if it's being scored live, you'll see a Live badge.
  3. View the current score, inning, batting order, and player stats in real time.
Live scoring is optional and managed by your coach or a designated scorekeeper — not all games will have it enabled.
